Emergency Management 2022 – POSTPONED

Join GTSC and Homeland Security Today for this annual stakeholder meeting. Since 2011, GTSC and HSToday have hosted this event to recognize and support National Preparedness Month, Hurricane awareness, and the many missions of FEMA before, during and after a disaster. During this day long meeting, we will hear from top FEMA leadership about their efforts in one of the busiest and most critical components, how we have pivoted to meet the challenges of climate change, any new initiatives, and how industry can assist in achieving current missions.

DHS Strategic Industry Conversation “Mission Success through Collaboration – February 8

DHS is pleased to announce that their eighth annual Strategic Industry Conversation (SIC VIII) “Mission Success through Collaboration” will be held on February 8, 2023, in Washington, D.C.

The SIC is an opportunity for you and your members to hear directly from the Department’s senior leadership on our priorities, challenges, and key areas of focus. The SIC is not an industry day event that is tied to any specific procurement actions. The final agenda will be forthcoming pending speaker confirmations. However, we are pleased to share that the SIC will include sessions on customer experience initiatives, the direction of category management at DHS, climate change and sustainability efforts, and information technology initiatives. Additionally, the SIC will have a dedicated networking room with opportunities to meet with DHS Industry Liaisons, Small Business Specialists, and others. Join us for an engaging day with our leaders.

SIC VIII will be held in-person at the Washington Hilton Hotel.

GTSC’s Transportation Security Symposium will happen the first two weeks of December, from December 1-1oth.

The Government Technology & Services Coalition is extremely pleased to host Transportation Security Symposium to examine the missions, programs, and goals of Transportation Security. Webinars feature keynote speakers, panel discussions, and subject matter discussions for approximately 1.5-2 hours daily.

GTSC continues to bring you the people, information, and collaboration necessary to understand our government partners. For GTSC’s Transportation Security Symposium, we will host discussions around the administration’s procurement goals, IT transformation initiatives, their small business strategy, and much more.

GTSC Briefing with Paul Courtney, Chief Procurement Officer, DHS

Paul Courtney was appointed as the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) on August 15, 2021. In his capacity as the Senior Procurement Executive, Mr. Courtney is responsible for the management direction of the acquisition system of DHS, including implementation of the unique acquisition policies, regulations, and standards of the agency. He oversees the work of ten Heads of Contracting Activity that provide operational procurement services to DHS components, directorates, and offices. Mr. Courtney joined DHS as the agency’s Deputy CPO in June, 2019.

Mr. Courtney was a member of the Senior Executive Service from 2013 to 2019 with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and served as Head of Contracting Activity and Procurement Executive. In this role, Mr. Courtney led the FBI’s contracting officers, and the FBI’s acquisition of approximately $4 billion in goods and services. He ensured the FBI’s law enforcement and national security mission was accomplished efficiently and effectively. During his FBI tenure, he led an acquisition business transformation effort which established a category management structure and numerous enterprise contracts. The effort eliminated the lowest price technically accepted contracting method for services, standardized business processes, and created one way of doing business with the FBI.
