In October 2017, GTSC acquired Homeland Security Today (www.HSToday.us) magazine and media platform to further our member’s voice, and provide a unique expert forum for those engaged in securing the nation.

For over a decade, Homeland Security Today (HSToday) has been the leading source for independent news and analysis on homeland security affairs. HSToday delivers trusted, nuanced writing informed by named sources at the highest levels of government, leaders throughout the private sector, and other professionals engaged in the homeland security mission.
GTSC’s HSToday writers and editors are security subject matter experts and advisors who embrace a culture of objectivity to deliver real news value to the homeland security community. HSToday coverage will now deliver the whole story and puts essential information in context to elevate conversations, inform decisions and better protect the nation.
Since GTSC’a acquisition of Homeland Security Today the site has had over one million page views in 2019 with thousands of new subscriptions to free weekly newsletters on numerous aspects of homeland security.
Founded in 2004, HSToday caters to: professionals within the Department of Homeland Security and other agencies with homeland security responsibilities (e.g., FBI, ODNI, Treasury); state and local law enforcement and emergency responders; members of the Intelligence Community; legislators, policymakers and regulators; and professionals, business leaders and analysts in the private, nonprofit and academic sectors.
MEMBERS of GTSC receive a special member’s only version of the newsletter with special announcements, activities, and opportunities exclusive to their support of the Coalition’s mission.

Kristina Tanasichuk
Executive Editor, Homeland Security Today

Kristina Tanasichuk is CEO of the Government Technology & Services Coalition and has developed and built the Coalition around communication and collaboration between the public and private sector in defense of our homeland.  A leader in homeland security public private partnership, critical infrastructure protection, cyber security, STEM, innovation, commercialization and much more, she brings to HS Today decades of experience in homeland security and a trusted community of experts and subject matter experts. A regular contributor to numerous homeland security related media and events, Tanasichuk brings a new vision and in-depth knowledge of the federal homeland and national security apparatus to HSToday.  She is also the president and founder of Women in Homeland Security and President of InfraGardNCR, a public private partnership between the FBI and private sector to share information to protect the nation’s critical infrastructure. Tanasichuk graduated from St. Olaf College with a BA in Political Science and American Studies with a concentration in Russian studies and received her Master’s in Public Administration with a policy concentration from George Mason University.  She has also attended the FBI and DEA Citizens Academies and the Marine Corps Executive Leadership Program.

Bridget Johnson
Managing Editor, Homeland Security Today

Bridget Johnson is the Managing Editor for Homeland Security Today. A veteran journalist whose news articles and analyses have run in dozens of news outlets across the globe, Bridget first came to Washington to be online editor and a foreign policy writer at The Hill. Previously she was an editorial board member at the Rocky Mountain News and syndicated nation/world news columnist at the Los Angeles Daily News. Bridget is a Senior Fellow specializing in terrorism analysis at the Haym Salomon Center. She is a Senior Risk Analyst for Gate 15 and Washington Bureau Chief for PJ Media. She is an NPR on-air contributor and has contributed to USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, National Review Online, Politico, New York Daily News, The Jerusalem Post, The Hill, New York Observer, Washington Times, RealClearWorld and more, and has myriad television and radio credits including Al-Jazeera and SiriusXM.

Rich Cooper
Editor-at-Large, Homeland Security Today

Rich Cooper is Editor-at-Large for HSToday.  A former senior member of DHS’ Private Sector Office (PSO), Cooper has been a frequent writer and contributor to numerous media outlets. He is a Senior Fellow with GWU’s Cyber and Homeland Security Institute; a Senior Policy Principal for Homeland Security and Justice at SAS Federal and a Principal with Catalyst Partners, LLC. He has also served in senior positions at NASA, the US Chamber of Commerce Foundation, and several other profit and not-for-profit enterprises
